Who?

WHO can be nominated?

Registered charities that are located in, or benefit the greater Leeds Grenville area

Donations benefiting national charities will not be considered.  However, If a national charity has a local group affiliation and the donation will only benefit the greater Leeds Grenville area, that is allowable for consideration.

Who can nominate a charity?

Only members who have signed a commitment form and are current on their contributions may submit a charity for consideration.

If a member nominates a charity that is not chosen to receive donation at one meeting, they are welcomed to re-submit that charity (or another) at future meetings.

If a member's charity is chosen, that charity is not eligible again, however, the member is still eligible to submit the name of another charity at future meetings.

How?

Members who wish to submit a charity for consideration must complete a nomination form. This can be done at the meeting, or printed at home to fill out and bring.

Three charity submissions will be randomly drawn at the meeting of which the presenters will then have time to make their five minute presentation.

Following each presentation, members are able to ask the presenter additional questions.

Voting

When the three presentations are finished, each member will vote by secret ballot, which will be tallied immediately following the ballot collection.

Following the announcement of the winner, each member will write a cheque naming the charity that was chosen by the majority.
